On this side, too. That's Route 128 on the overpass; the platform doesn't quite get that far.

Looking north, there is the usual pair of mini-highs.

    MBTAcommuter railtrain stations

    Mishawum station

There's something strange about this platform that I can't quite place...

    MBTAcommuter railtrain stations

  • Mishawum station

    Mishawum station

    Do you see it?

    MBTAcommuter railtrain stations

  • Mishawum station

    Mishawum station

Yes, the whole platform edge is entirely missing from both mini-highs. That means that this mini-high is actually NOT accessible — and of course because the station used to be accessible and isn't any more, it can't legally be open.

    Mishawum station

Other than the missing platform edge, this station does seem to be in pretty decent condition. But without parking, there doesn't seem to be much nearby for it to serve, situated as it is in the middle of an industrial-park wasteland on the side of a freeway.

    Mishawum station

It USED to have parking, back in the days when you paid for parking by folding up two dollar bills and shoving them into the slot for your space number. That gives some idea of how long it's been....

I don't know how many oceans of parking this station has

  • Anderson RTC

    Anderson RTC

Over there is the ocean of parking for Logan Express (currently closed) and a canopy for riders boarding the buses. No air travel means no Logan Express, at least not from Woburn.

Off in the distance, some new residential construction, but if they want to take the train, it's a bid of a hike through all the parking and busy access roads.

Sure looks like this used to be a four-track main line, or at least was when that overpass was originally sited.

LRTA operates this station, and it's served by the route 3 bus from Lowell roughly hourly on weekdays.

Of course there's the traditional ocean of parking...

At least this station has the modern departure monitors.

    MBTAcommuter railtrain stations

  • North Billerica station

    North Billerica station

Apparently it's a historic right-of-way. (They obviously do not operate narrow-gauge today, and I'm not sure why you'd want to mark the site of a technological dead end that is some fifty years after the beginning of standard-gauge railroading, but anyhow...)

It's a cute station building, which Wikipedia tells me, to my surprise, is a 1990s renovation of the original 1867 depot.
