Landing 53, located next to the station, is a six-story mass-timber apartment building with 172 units, built atop a two-level concrete parking podium with 198 stalls. The building also has 12,000 square feet of retail space.

    East Braintree/Weymouth Landing station

This is the most "urban" setting of all the Greenbush Line stations, but the canopy design is the standard one. The separate shelter for the bike racks is unusual.

Apparently the original bike rack wasn't enough, so a newer one of a different design was added later.

    East Weymouth station

Oh wow, it's an ocean of parking with a solar canopy! Why doesn't every station have one of these?

  • West Hingham station

    West Hingham station

This is yet another transit-oriented golf course! (Tthe original Old Colony service to Greenbush and Kingston was still operating in 1922 when the course opened. Back then, far more of the South Shore Country Club's members likely arrived via train; nowadays, they more likely drive.)

Looks pretty much the same the other way, except for the standard shelter.

Another solar canopy atop the ocean of parking, will wonders never cease?

Standard canopy design again; if you look closely, you can see the netting wrapped around the rafters to keep birds from nesting in the shelter.

Another ocean of parking, bigger than any of the previous ones, but no solar canopy here

The Whitney Spur Rail Trail actually separates the station proper from its enormous parking lot. The Rail Trail is built on the former branch line serving the Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot Annex in Cohasset.

I saw several people using the nearly-empty parking lot as a high-speed cut-through from Route 3A to North Main St.

The ramp down from the platform here leads to the North Scituate business district at Gannett Road and Country Way. (The station entrance is off Country Way.)

Another shelter, just like the last one. I'm a bit surprised they put the platform so far from the street, but maybe that's to keep from fouling the grade crossing?

You can probably pin down the exact date of construction for this station by the Verizon logo on the former payphone stand. (The phone itself is of course long done.)

Finally, we are at Greenbush, the end of the line. Unusually, the layover facility is actually within the station — so trains going into service have to exit the layover onto the active line, reverse direction, and then pull back into the station to pick up passengers.

Only one train in the layover facility, which seems odd given that all weekend service on the line is suspended.
