Columbus Ave. busway
Over the course of the pandemic, the MBTA in association with the City of Boston built a busway along a stretch of Columbus Ave. between Seaver St. and Jackson Square. The busway, which replaced general-traffic lanes and parking, added high-quality passenger amenities at each stop, and was estimated to save riders of the 22, 23, and 44 buses as much as five minutes of traffic delays. Planning is currently underway to extend the busway north along Columbus Ave. and Tremont St. to Ruggles station.
